Tasks and duties
- Designing and implementing processes to keep the practice running smoothly.
- Assisting the practitioner with paperwork.
- Hiring, training and motivating staff.
- Ensuring records are kept in compliance with industry regulations.
- Problem-solving issues occurring in the practice.
- Managing digital databases and records.
- Discussing problems and offer solutions to unhappy clients.
- Reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
How to become a Practice Manager
Formal qualifications are not essential to work as a Practice Manager in most industries, but may be well-regarded by employers.
- 1.Complete a Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration) (BSB30120) or a Certificate III in Health Administration (HLT37315) if you are going into the health industry. These courses are available through TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation.
- 2.Complete a Diploma of Practice Management (HLT57715) for a more generalised course. It will take between 1-2 years full-time to complete.
